Bio

Born in Northampton in the South East Midlands, Robert Goodman is a seasoned actor and voice-over artist with a career spanning over 50 years. His creative journey began in an unlikely place: the kitchen. Leaving school at 15, he trained as a chef, believing—then and now—that any creative act, whether cooking or performing, is transformed by the intention and love poured into it.

That same philosophy led him to acting at 19, beginning with training at the prestigious Birmingham School of Speech Training and Dramatic Art. Over the decades, Robert has continued to refine his craft under the guidance of some of the world’s leading acting coaches, specialising in both Method acting and Shakespearean performance. For him, acting remains “a journey of self-discovery… a kind of magic.”

Robert’s impressive body of work spans film, television, theatre, radio, and commercials. He has collaborated with acclaimed directors including Martin Scorsese, Luc Besson, Nicolas Roeg, and Richard Lester. In 2024, he was awarded Best Actor in the short film category at the International Film Festival of Wales.

As a voice artist, Robert brings depth, versatility, and authenticity. His vocal range spans from warm and resonant to chillingly intense. His native accent is Northampton, but he typically speaks in a neutral British tone and is highly skilled in a wide range of British and international accents—including New York, Southern American, and various European styles.

Beyond performance, Robert is also a writer and author. He has contributed to magazines on topics ranging from acting technique to the paranormal, and penned the inspirational book The Magic of Acting, aimed at aspiring performers.

“But it’s the most magical life I could have wished for.” – Robert Goodman
