Bio

Irene was born and raised in South London, her parents both Jamaican came to England during the Windrush era.

Irene sang in the local church Choir then joined the renowned London Community Gospel Choir (LCGC). During her nine years with the choir she had the opportunity to work with various artists on stage, TV and also worked with them in the recording studios.

Irene performed in Black Heros in the Hall of Fame, then went on to perform in Purley the musical. Her West End credits include The Lion King, Nine Night and long standing Principal role in ‘TINA’ The Musical. Other productions include, Chicago (Mama Morton), Little Voice, Before The Party, Hairspray, Thoroughly Modern Millie.
Recent works include the voice of Grandma in the Netflix animation film and series- Dee and friends in oz (2024). Irene has also appeared in Eastenders and a few short films.

Irene has a warm, strong, calming, engaging and comforting style.
Other accents include Jamaican, Caribbean, Cockney, American (Standard and Southern), South African.

In 2024 Irene was NOMINATED Best Supporting Female Actor in a Musical in Tina as GG by the Black British Theatre Awards.
