Bio

Gudmundur Thorvaldsson is an Icelandic actor, based in Iceland.

He graduated from the Icelandic Acting School in 1998, with MA in Performance Making from Goldsmiths University in 2009 and with a MBA degree from The University of Reykjavik in 2014. Gudmundur starred in his first film Sporlaust (No Trace) 1997 and has ever since been very active as an artist.

Early on in his carreer Gudmundur started doing all kinds of voicework and has continued to do so to this day. He reads novels on a regular basis for Storytel, and he is currently the voice of the Iceland National Broadcasting service, channel 2.

He has dubbed in Icelandic for numerous characters in various projects like, Spiderman, Spies in Disguise, Asterix, Garfield, Chickenhare and the Hamster of Darkness. He has, over the years, been the voice for numerous brands in Iceland like, Suzuki, Sýn sports channel, Duracel, Maxwell‘s house Coffee, Corny, Opal Háls, Tópas, Snickers etc.

Gudmundur‘s first work in games was playing (mocap) Sigurd Styrbjornsson in Assassin‘s Creed Valhalla. Then he voiced Hero of Slaanesh 2 ub Total War, Warhammer III. He plays Fargrimr (mocap) in Hellblade II Senua‘s Saga and just voiced for Aurick, in an upcoming game with the work title, Echoes of the End by Myrkur games.

His acting credits, include playing Marcellus in the feature Mary, directed by DJ Caruso, co–starring Sir Anthony Hopkins (which apparently is the most successful biblical film on Netflix ever!) He plays John the Baptist in Terence Malik‘s The Way of the Wind. Expected premier in 2027. And Skallagrim in a new series, Bloodaxe created by the same team as did the Vikings. The series is expected to be aired on Amazon in the 3rd quarter of 2026.

With a neutral European accent and a natural delivery with a gravitas style, his voice can work easily in an international space.
